All human beings want to be happy: we want to feel connected with others and at home with ourselves. Most of us, however, have emotional and behavioral patterns that can interfere with these basic desires. We fear loss, judgment or failure and protect ourselves in ways that often make our fears worse. Working collaboratively, I help my clients identify and change these patterns, improving the quality of their relationships and their lives.
Having been a counselor to individuals, couples and families for over 30 years, I have extensive experience with a variety of concerns, including: anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, parenting, chronic pain, body image issues, sexual concerns, as well as loss and transition.
I also provide clinical consultation to therapists and other professionals. And I offer presentations to the community on topics that include desire, sexuality and the interlocking vulnerabilities that underlie repetitive conflict in relationships.
